Champ de Grain, a detached, 2 bed-roomed cottage
in traditional stone, is situated near the pretty village of Megrit
in the beautiful countryside of the Cotes d'Armor.
It is only 45 minutes from the port of St Malo with it's lovely
nearby beaches and
walled city, which is packed with history and houses a wide variety
of wonderful restaurants and shops.
The many other beaches of the Emerald coast
are only 30 minutes to the north and you are just 15 minutes from
medieval Dinan and 25 minutes from Montcontour.
The gite itself is a short bike ride from Jugon- les- Lacs - actually
situated around a large lake where you can fish, ramble, hire a
boat or swim in the newly re-furbished outdoor pool.
Brittany's capital Rennes is also under an hour away.

The cottage, recently renovated,
is full of character and retains many of the original features -
including oak beams and a log burning fire.(It also has electric
heating and so is ideal for out of season lets).
You are actually situated in the courtyard of the owners' main property
( a Breton farmhouse dating back to 1770) and surrounded by open
fields - giving a feeling of space and tranquillity.
You are assured a warm reception upon your arrival and a 'welcome
pack' containing the usual tea, coffee, milk etc. as well as wine,
water, orange juice, bread, cheese and nibbles awaits you.
There is a large playing field with children's games and a mixture
of different sized bicycles for the use of guests, and you can introduce
yourselves to Sally, Dolly and Betty our rather cute pygmy goats,
who love to be fed any leftover baguettes or croissants you may
have! There is also a surface swimming pool
and a large trampoline for adults and children alike to enjoy!!

and separate lounge area with comfortable 3 piece suite where you
can snuggle up in front of the fire with a glass of wine - should
you wish to join us for a winter break. There is a video player
with English videos, a radio/CD/cassette player as well as books
and games for guests to use.
The kitchen is equipped with a toaster, kettle
and microwave as well as a large 5-ringed cooker/oven - in fact
everything you might need should you wish to try out some of the
excellent Breton recipes in the cook books provided or just to prepare
a snack.
However should you wish to eat out the local area is full of excellent,
good value restaurants, including a 'creperie' in an old water tower
with a fantastic panoramic view! The owners will be on hand, if
required, to point you in the right direction and 'wax lyrical'
about many of the restaurants - having visited most of them more
than once!
The first floor comprises of a large double
bedroom, a twin-bedded room with
additional double bed settee and a shower room with, W.C. and wash-basin.
There is a washing machine and freezer available in a nearby outbuilding.
You can relax in the sunshine on your patio
to the side of the house- it has
garden furniture and a barbeque for your use. There is also a large
grassed
area overlooking the playing field where you can soak up the sun
, play boules
or simply enjoy a glass of the local 'calva'.
There are some wonderful markets
in a different town in the area each day (a full list of where and
when is included in your house notes) selling a wide range of local
produce and traditional gifts.
For the more active there are golf, horse riding and water sport
facilities
nearby and the area is ideal for walking and cycling.
There is also the Grand Aquarium at St Malo and especially for the
children several, inexpensive adventure parks a short distance way.
We know Brittany has something for everyone, why don't you visit
us soon and find
out for yourself.
